2020 is a lot, and we're only halfway. Australian Wild Fires. Murder Hornets. Coronavirus. Racial Justice.
I feel bad even mentioning a different cause, but I am so desperately committed to finding a cure for cancer and I hope you will be too!
In order to keep our community safe, the Walk will not follow routes along the famed Boston Marathon® course this year. Instead, participants will choose their own location to walk: around the neighborhood, a local walking trail, on a treadmill, in your backyard.
This change is of course the right decision as anyone who knows someone with a compromised immune system understands. But it is also a sacrifice. It means there will be less registrants, it means DFCI lowered the fundraising minimum for participants, and it will ultimately limit the true purpose of the walk: to reach a world without cancer!
Team Ben Strong will do things differently this year. We're going on a hike on October 4. You're welcome to join us or participate with your own friends or family!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
