I don't know about you, but the idea of getting out of this house and walking 26.2 miles is sounding better and better everyday!
Hi friends! I am thrilled to be participating in my 3rd Jimmy Fund Walk this upcoming October. Coming off of a record-breaking year for my personal and team fundraising, I am more motivated than ever to give back to Dana Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. Becoming a Pacesetter has been one of my proudest accomplishments to date, and I couldn't have done it without your support.
I continue to walk every year for the continued research and outstanding patient care that my favorite kids receive. As the #1 children's cancer hospital in the world, DFCI/Boston Children's bridges the gap in national research for children suffering with cancer and blood disorders- largely possible because of events like the Walk. I have met hundreds of childhood cancer families over the years and I get to see more and more kids grow up because of the life saving treatment they are able to receive. Their resilience inspires me daily and I one day hope to work alongside these families as a child life specialist on Boston Children's 6th floor or at the Dana Farber clinic.
I know times are tough and the world as we know it has been turned upside down, but your support is needed now more than ever. Many of The Jimmy Fund's events have been postponed or completely cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Walk Staff have assured us that there will be a Walk in some capacity on October 4, either in person or virtually. I have made it a personal mission to complete my 26.2-mile mission as well, whether that means I'm at the start line in Hopkinton or I walk from home. If you cannot support me monetarily, your kind words go just as far and mean just as much.
I promised myself I would raise $2,500 this year, and a pandemic will not stop me in that pursuit. Thank you for your continued support over the years, and I know this year will be the greatest yet no matter the circumstances!
