I am participating in the 2020 Jimmy Fund Walk because I want to live in a world where cancer doesn’t take innocent lives, where it doesn’t leave behind scars both physical and emotional.
I don’t know if there will ever be a time when cancer doesn’t exist, but if I had one wish it would be that cancer becomes just a bump in the road, not a detour, and certainly not a dead end. We need to end the terrible thing that is cancer, for everyone, and especially for our children.
I walk for my son, William, who was diagnosed at 10 months old with stage IV hepatoblastoma (liver cancer), and after being in remission for one year unfortunately battled a relapse. He is thankfully in remission again and we walk to say thank you to the doctors and nurses who made that possible and in honor of all those who will battle in the future, all who are still battling, and those who were lost.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
