Pediatric cancer is a terrible and often fatal diagnosis. As a pediatric oncologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, it isn't enough to give my patients the chemotherapy we've been using for decades and hope for the best. For too many of our patients, like Fernando, these treatments just aren't enough.
At Dana-Farber, we are dedicated to leading the world in the discovery of new and better treatments for pediatric cancer that will one day cure all children with cancer without the terrible side effects of today's chemotherapy.
To discover these new treatments requires funding for research, so that the most ambitious ideas can be pursued and the best technologies harnessed to solve the problem of pediatric cancer once and for all.
Please join me by supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk that raises money for our research to find new cures for Ewing sarcoma, the terrible cancer that claimed the life of Fernando Morales, the wonderful young man who inspires our team and inspires me every day.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
