Dear Family and Friends,
Our team, Lee's Heroes started walking for Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund in 2018 when our Sister, Mom and Friend Lee Yniguez Taylor's son, Ryan started at Boston University...our tradition began. Lee battled with stomach cancer in 2006 and ever since has been a model for us in caring, dedicating, giving, loving and living life to the fullest and smiling. She gave all of her passions above and beyond effort and most importantly prioritized her family and friends in her life. Lee left behind her husband and 3 young children, who now are amazing young loving adults...her legacy.
Our family is once again impacted with the loss of our brother, uncle and friend in Casey August Reyes Yniguez who battled colon cancer. We will be co-honoring and co-dedicating our walk this year to Casey. Casey and Lee were similar in their zest for living and in making others feel loved with their joys, laughter and smiles.
Casey lived a full life in his 64 years. He was an academic overachiever with two advanced college degrees in chemical engineering, a ranked chess player, an avid athlete who loved all sports, especially tennis. He was a loving dad, brother, uncle, son, cousin and friend with a dedication and hard work ethic to his career. He enjoyed his adventures in white water rafting and traveling, music, band playing and karaoke, exploring foods from many cultures and his social memberships and commitments as a Freemason and Shriner. His most important achievement was raising and loving his son, coaching and guiding him in baseball and teaching him life's lessons. His family was always a priority and Casey was so proud of the wonderful young man his son has become. Forever, father and son, best friends, Casey's legacy. We miss our loving Casey and feel so grateful and blessed with how he modeled his love for living and he will be forever in our hearts.
