It is hard to believe that another year has gone by and I am getting ready to walk in my 15th walk for the Dana Farber Jimmy Fund Walk. I have been so blessed over the years to have support from family and friends in my efforts to raise funds for this incredible cause.
On Sunday, September 22nd, Tom, Olivia, James and I will be walking in my 15th Jimmy Fund Walk. I am walking towards a goal of $350 this year.
15 years ago I started to walk in support of my nephew, Nicholas, who is now a 2-time cancer survivor. At both the age of 4 and 11 he bravely overcame a rare form of kidney cancer. Nick has just started his Junior year at Northeastern University in Boston and already taking graduate level courses!
I will be walking alongside Nick and the rest of Team Nicholas to support this tremendous cause. I will also be walking in memory of my aunt, Jessie Dempsey, who left us several years ago. She had been a courageous cancer fighter for over 30 years.
I hope you will support my efforts by contributing to my walk. Your generous gift enables Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to provide compassionate care while continuing its research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients worldwide. By supporting my walk, you are helping to conquer cancer.
I thank you again for your tremendous support.
p.s. You may contribute online or through a check made out to the Jimmy Fund. (forms are available online for checks, but I will also be happy to fill those out). Any checks can be mailed directly to me and I will send them in with the needed forms.
