18 years ago, I joined Team Nicholas in the Dana Farber Jimmy Fund Walk. While the last few walks have looked a tad different, we are excited to go back to Boston this year and walk with fellow teams in the fight against cancer.
On Sunday, October 2nd , Tom, Olivia, James and I will once again walk in support of the Jimmy Fund, to help raise much needed funds for cancer treatment and research.
I began my journey on Team Nicholas in 2005, in support of my nephew, Nicholas, who is a 2-time cancer survivor. At both the ages of 4 and 11, he bravely overcame a rare form of pediatric kidney cancer. Nick is now a graduate student at Northeastern University in Boston and is doing incredible. Thanks to the incredible care and treatment he received at Boston’s Children’s Hospital, his future is bright.
Cancer is something that has become far too familiar to so many. Along with Nick, I also walk in memory of my aunt who was a fighter for over 30 years, my mother who has had three cancer surgeries, and multiple friends who have braved radiation treatment and are currently still doing so. And now I walk in recognition of my own recent successful renal cell cancer surgery.
I hope you will support my efforts by contributing to my walk. Your generous gift enables Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to provide compassionate care while continuing its research to improve the chance of survival for cancer patients worldwide. By supporting my walk, you are helping to conquer cancer.
I thank you for your tremendous support.
p.s. You may contribute online or through a check made out to the Jimmy Fund. Any checks can be mailed directly to me and I will send them along with the needed forms and my registration number.
