I am participating in the 2024 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
My job as an oncology nurse is the most challenging, rewarding and meaningful nursing role I have ever had. I'm so grateful for the opportunity and privilege to care for and comfort my patients and their loved ones during such a difficult time in their lives. And I'm proud to work at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
I'm walking for those who can't - my past and present patients, whose strength, courage, humor and perseverance inspires me. I'm walking in memory of my father Jack Silverio, and other family members, friends and patients who lost their battles with cancer. I'm walking for my patients' loved ones and caregivers, whose unwavering support, love and care has brought me to tears. I'm walking for my friends, family and patients who are cancer survivors. I'm walking because 13 miles is nothing compared to the challenges they have all faced.
And this year our team walks for Katie, our colleague who is courageously fighting her own battle with cancer.
When you make a donation to my Walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique balance between cutting-edge research and compassionate patient care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can defy cancer!
