This will be our first year walking since Marcos passed.
It's hard to even write this now. It would be easy to give up and say, "What's the point? We couldn't save him." Well the point is that this money we are raising and the research it's helping support is what allowed Marcos to get the treatment he needed to fight for as long as he did. Because of the progress we've made, he got to hang around for years longer than he would have been able to otherwise. They were far from easy years, but they meant the world to those who loved him. They meant we got to have one last ski trip. They meant we got to have donuts together after last years walk. They meant we got to complain to each other about one more lousy soccer season. They meant everything.
For this reason we will continue to walk, year after year.
I will shamelessly ask you for money, year after year.
All in the hopes that someday the next Marcos will win their fight.
