Bryson and I are participating in the 2019 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, along with my mom, sister and my beautiful nieces, Sienna and Alexa. We walk in honor of their dad and Bryson's Uncle D to take steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
Darrell lost his courageous battle against glioblastoma brain cancer this past February.
Last year and were able to join him for this walk, which was a big accomplishment as he had just been released from the hospital the day before. He was weak after learning that his tumor had returned for the third time. He had been so strong through two brain surgeries in the 12-months since being diagnosed and was determined to complete the walk. He crossed the finish line that day and continued to have hope for a cure, if not for him, but for others in the future.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for any support you can give toward reaching our goal this year in honor of Darrell. Together, we can conquer cancer!
