As many of you know and as many of you don’t know because I’m not very vocal about it, I’m a cancer surviver. When I was seventeen I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma and I was lucky enough to have caught it early stages when I noticed what I thought was a pulled muscle, but was actually a tumor protruding through my clavicle. Cancer cured - I still have my dumb moments! I was treated at the Jimmy Fund Clinic because I was under eighteen years old. Between all the chemo drugs I was a zombie and I lost all my hair; although, I still was vain enough to pencil on my eyebrows. The amazing staff there made my three months of weekly chemo and month of radiation seem as relaxed as a regular doctors visit. There were always smiles and laughter and everyone there really helped blanket the severity of many situations. I look back on my time there with rose-colored glasses. However, I’m still haunted by seeing young children suffer and their families agonize. I’m fundraising so that in the future people will suffer less and because I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for modern medicine. I would love for you to donate and be a part of working for a cause that brings me joy!
I am participating in the 2021 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and compassionate patient care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can conquer cancer!
