For the 17th year, I am fundraising to help the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute beat cancer. On Sunday, October 3, I will lace up my sneakers to walk in the 2021 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way presented by Hyundai. This year, I won’t be heading into Boston to walk the famed marathon route. Instead I’ll be making my own route, around my neighborhood. I've pledged to raise funds that will support critical cancer research and innovative pediatric and adult patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I’m writing to you today to ask for your support
Team Sunflower was started in memory of my daughter, Sia. Sia was diagnosed with alveolar soft part sarcoma in 1997 and succumbed to the disease in October, 2004 at the age of 37. However, over the last several years we have lost other family and friends to various types of cancer. Our team also walks in their memory. We also walk to celebrate those of us who are survivors of this disease.
Our team goal for 2021 is to raise $5000 for the Jimmy Fund. I hope you will again support our efforts by contributing to our walk.
Please join me in the fight against cancer by considering a contribution of $10 or more toward my fundraising efforts.
