I walk in tribute to my friend Tim, who battled leukemia for over a year until he passed away in 2008 at the age of 10.
I walk for a former patient of mine, who stood en route my first year and gave me a hug as I went by. (She knows me as "the one who stands on her head in clinic.")
I walk for my grandfather, a brilliant physician and phenomenal human who fought lung cancer but passed away before I was born.
I'm grateful to be able to honor Tim and my grandfather in this way. As Tim once said, he taught me "everything [I] know about Wii, PS3, and Lego Star Wars" - though he taught me quite a lot more than that!
I believe in the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
