I am participating in the 2020 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way In memory of our daughter, Alison, who had been a patient of DFCI for nearly 10 years when she developed Acute Myeloid Leukemia at age 19 in her sophomore year of college. After successfully receiving treatment she was able to return to Ithaca College but unfortunately relapsed and required a bone marrow stem cell transplant. She relapsed again the following year and received a second stem cell transplant, however she developed the complications of GvHD which lead to Oxygen dependency and eventual ventilator dependency.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Alison always felt to be the Captain of her team. She loved & respected the many caregivers that she encountered, but particularly her 4 physicians & NP. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
The SchnipperDipperDoodle Fund is directed to patients & family members who are effected by the complications of GvHD.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. We appreciate your generosity. Together, we can conquer cancer!
