Almost exactly one year from the day of my cancer diagnosis, I am thrilled to be walking 13.1 miles in the 2019 Boston Marathon(R) Jimmy Fund Walk, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
On September 20, 2018, my world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. On September 26, 2018, I had my first appointment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. While I had always heard Dana-Farber is the best, as newly diagnosed cancer patient, I immediately developed a whole new appreciation for the incredible work done there in the fight against this terrible disease. Thanks to my world class team of doctors, who developed my treatment plan, and the amazing nurses and technicians who helped implement it, I currently have no evidence of disease! Dana-Farber saved my life and I am now a lifelong supporter of the incredible work they do for so many in the fight against cancer.
I've spent this past year fighting cancer with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, but I'm not done yet. This September, with your support, I'll continue to fight cancer with my feet!
When you make a gift to my walk, you're directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
