Every year, I walk 26.2 miles across Boston as a proud member of Team Todd in loving memory of my incredible brother Todd J. Schwartz who battled hard against cancer until November 19, 2002. I miss my brother every single day.
Todd was a bright light who put everyone else first, even when he was very sick. He was the funniest guy I have ever known. He never stopped joking or smiling and was thankful that this was happening to him and not me or my sister. He was selfless beyond words and continues to leave his mark on this world as we honor him by continuing his fight.
100% of Team Todd funds go directly to cancer research at the Walensky Lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute run by Todd’s brilliant doctor, Dr. Loren Walensky, who we lovingly consider a part of our family since the minute Todd was diagnosed back in high school.
There are so many reasons to give as we all know someone who has been affected by cancer. But even more importantly, if you’re lucky enough to not have been touched by cancer yet, give give and then give some more. Give to keep that streak alive. Give so that no one has to look at an empty seat at the table. Give so that more siblings can stick together and have a lifetime of memories together instead of only 16 years like I had with Todd.
Give what you can because EVERY dollar goes a long way. With your generosity, we are one step closer to a cancer free future.
Thank you!
