After working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for 2.5 years, I am finally doing the 2019 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai! I am walking in honor of, my aunt, Devon Winey, who is a stage 3 colon cancer survivor. My aunt was diagnosed when her daughters were only 1 and 3-years old, so she did what every superhuman mom does and fought for her life. She is the epitome of perseverance, optimism, and strength. Her ability to say "yes" to every thing imaginable in an effort to live each day to the fullest continually inspires me to be more present, take risks, and appreciate this beautiful life we have.
On September 22, I will be walking with my mom and aunt to raise funds to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber. When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting DFCI’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows DFCI to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Will you please consider helping me reach my goal of $500? Thank you so much for supporting me!
