I am participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk this year to support my nephew, Michael, who was diagnosed with Leukemia on Thanksgiving Day last year.
Since then, the Jimmy Fund and Boston Children's Hospital have become extensions of our family. We've laughed with them, cried with them, and most importantly we've worked together with them to conquer this disease. The work these organizations put in every day is nothing short of heroic, and our lives would be impossible without them.
Thanksgiving is our family’s favorite holiday (all about the food). For a little while after Michael’s diagnosis, I hated Thanksgiving and assumed we would never celebrate again since it was the day Michae got sick. I’ve now come around and started appreciating Thanksgiving as the day Michael started to GET BETTER, and we were fortunate enough to meet these amazing people who are helping us every step of the way.
Please consider donating to the Boston Jimmy Fund.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
