I am participating in the 2019 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
Before April of 2016 I couldn’t have told you that glioblastoma is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. These brain tumors grow rapidly and are difficult to remove completely. I quickly learned that glioblastoma can affect anyone, at any age, and that the average patient survival rate is 12-18 months.
Pete’s diagnosis hit us like a ton of bricks but our family was determined to make the best of the time we had left together. Twelve months later we could confirm how rapidly this disease whips through and devastates life as it once was.
Hopefully soon there will be a cure for all cancers. Please consider making a donation to my walk which will allow Dana-Farber to continue its leading edge cancer research and patient care in New England and around the world.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk.
