Unfortunately we all know someone who has been impacted by a cancer diagnosis. I have had melanoma twice. My dad died from lung cancer and my sister Shelly died at age 47. Shelly was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 28. Over several decades she would battle multiple types of cancer. She lost her eye to ocular melanoma and battled Gastric cancer and brain tumors. She fiercely fought cancer for 20 years , a true warrior. Most recently my son’s mother in law Jean has been fighting a nasal melanoma. I wasn’t sure if I could walk the entire marathon because I was nursing a hamstring injury. However, this fundraising event fell on the anniversary weekend of Shelly’s death. I had to do it and I did ! I would appreciate your support of my efforts with a donation in any amount to Dana Farber.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
