WHY I'M FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

Today I walked 13.1 miles (yes a half marathon - walked not ran! But 13.1 miles nonetheless!)  in the 2019 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk. Today I walked for my sister in law who battled Multiple Myeloma and was so compassionately treated at Dana Farber. My sister in law lost her battle in 2013 but only after Dana Farber gave her more precious time with her husband and children. I also walked today for my brother who was a loyal supporter of the Dana Farber medical network.  My brother lost his life in 2016 to a sudden unexpected heart attack...I also walked for my cousin Beth Mellor’s husband who is currently battling cancer and is fighting his fight with the Dana Farber cancer team by his side every step of the way.  A couple of years ago, I never would have thought that my husband and I would complete this task today!  Thank you to those that already donated!  If you are still interested, my account will stay open until 31 October!! No donation is too small! I appreciate every single dollar!! Cheers!

When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.

Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
