I am participating in the 2023 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.

I walk because I can! I walk for my family and friends that can no longer walk. This year I walk for my Aunt Pat, my friends Angela Uriano, Mike Klupa and Scott Miles. I walk thinking of how hard they fought, and continued to fight when things were harder than anything they had ever done. I am about 2 1/2 years into my journey and i cannot tell you how much the support of family and friends means to me. From meals for me and my family, to all of the help running the kids to all of their sports commitments, and people sending texts just checking in to see how I am doing, and seeing if there is anything I need. I am never alone on my journey!  And for that I am truly grateful.

The money raised for research is so important.  I honestly believe it is the reason I am still here today.  The breakthroughs they are making with combining immunotherapy drugs and chemotherapy drugs is what is working for me. There are good days and bad days.  We embrace the good days while preparing for the bad days.  I try to find ways to push through and and keep the bad days to myself.  I just keep telling myself that "it is what it is", just keep pushing and a good day will come. Through all of what has happened to this point, I have learned to live life more relaxed, eat the cake. take the trip and most of all, tell those that you love that you love them every chance you get.  People remember most how you make them feel.  Not the things you give them.
