I am walking in honor of and in memory of anyone who has had cancer touch their lives. This is personal for me; I have lost both of my parents to cancer. My mother battled ovarian, peritoneal, and triple negative metastatic breast cancer, and my dad battled metastatic melanoma. Over a 15 year period, I witnessed the extraordinary care that both of my parents received from the doctors, nurses, and the entire DFCI staff. It is this level of exceptional care that made me want to give back to Dana-Farber. Between 2016 and 2017, I participated in three Dana-Farber Running events and raised a combined total of $36,000.
This year, instead of running, I will be walking in the 2020 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way. I am walking every day I can, between now and October 4th, to support assistance for our most vulnerable patients and research creating new cures that will give patients more quality time with their families. I have set an aggressive goal of $10,000, and I am hoping with your help I can reach––maybe even surpass!!––that goal to help DFCI take steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
The last few months have been difficult for everyone and have shown us what is truly important in this world––our family, our friends, and doing everything we can to help those who are most vulnerable.
Cancer does not rest, and the Friends won’t either. Together, we will continue moving to support patients and research at Dana-Farber.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. Your support means the world to me.
