This upcoming weekend, my family will be participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk in Boston to raise money for Dana Farber Cancer Institute and support the fight against cancer.
With September being Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, this cause is particularly important to me as my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in December of 2015. After surgery, extensive chemotherapy and the help of her team at Dana Farber, she has now been cancer free for over 2 years!
Currently, there are no screening tests for ovarian cancer. We are working to raise money and awareness for research to prevent this disease from being diagnosed at such a late stage, as was the case with my mom. Help us to find better screening methods so that we may be able to protect our mothers, sisters, daughters, and all the women in our lives from this devastating disease.
We would love for you to join our team - Michele's Ovary Achievers. Click “Join Team” if you would like to walk on Sunday 9/22/19. If you are unable to attend the event but would like to contribute to our goal, any amount is greatly appreciated!
