I am participating in the 2019 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
My son, Caleb, is still in recovery from a bone marrow transplant that was mostly successful, except for platelet failure to engraft. He also is currently battling Graft-Vs-Host Disease and Avascular Necrosis of both hips, for which he is on crutches. We are hopeful that he will beat these complications, for he has already beat AML twice in the last 2.5 years. Caleb has been in remission for over a year.
Doing this walk, I hope to not only raise money for cancer research, but also inspire Caleb to reenter the world again, once he is able to, and continue with his passion for politics, history, and drumming.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
