WHY I'M FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER
I am walking in honor of a little boy I love very much. In November 0f 2014, just A few weeks after his 1st birthday, Julian was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, pediatric liver cancer. He was treated with 8 rounds of chemotherapy and an attempted liver resection. That May, when he was only 1 1/2 years old and still undergoing treatment for cancer, Julian received a liver transplant.
Although he will always have challenges as a result of the transplant, today Julian is a happy, healthy and thriving 6 year old boy. He has an infectious smile and vibrant personality. He is curious about everything in the world around him. His family is grateful to the team at Dana Farber for all the care they provided him.
Since I was a little girl, I have wanted to join my Auntie Meagan on the Jimmy Fund walk. Now at 16 years old I am truly proud to walk beside her. My goal is to raise $500 and would greatly appreciate any support from my friends and family.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. ~~~ MaryJane
