I watched my mother fight breast cancer 30 years ago. It was awful!
Today I am participating in a clinical research trial at The Dana Farber Cancer Institute to try to beat my ovarian cancer. I see the advances that have been made in cancer care since my mother's battle.
I am thankful every day to be fighting this disease today and not back then.
I walk to try to help in some small way. I am neither a doctor nor a scientist. But I have 2 feet and can walk to raise money to aid in the battle. A cure for cancer was once thought impossible. Some people still believe that - they are wrong!
30 years is along time but remember, difficult things we can do now, the impossible well, that just takes a little longer.
Patience, Persistance, Hope and Hardwork will get us there - no one ever achieved a thing in this world by giving up! NEVER GIVE UP! We can all help keep the fight going!!!
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we CAN conquer cancer!
