Glioblastoma is a brutal disease with a very poor prognosis. Even with aggressive treatment most patients only survive for 12-18 months from diagnosis. While incremental improvements to treatments are being made, the standard of care treatment has not been improved upon for over a decade.
David fought bravely and fiercely for 17 months. He participated in a clinical trial, knowing the importance of research and innovation in beating this disease.
I walk with Team Wolverine in honor of David and for all those battling Glioblastoma now and in the future. Funding and research is the only way forward.
About Team Wolverine:
Formed in honor of Travis Sauerwald, Team Wolverine has raised more than $90,000 since 2017. Travis led us through our first two marathons and has inspired us from above since his passing in 2019. We walk for Travis and for all those who have battled or will battle brain cancer. The money raised by Team Wolverine is used specifically to fund glioblastoma research at Dana Farber.
