This September I will be participating in the 2019 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk in support of my friend, Chloe Svolos, to celebrate her recent victory over cancer. She was diagnosed with 2A Hodgkin's lymphoma this past February and was officially declared in remission just a couple days ago after months of treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
The Jimmy Fund solely supports Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, raising funds for adult and pediatric cancer care and research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through thousands of community fundraising events.
Our team is raising funds specifically for research conducted by Dr. Ann LaCasce (Chloe's oncologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute) into the type of lymphoma Chloe just beat. This charity walk is the perfect way to celebrate and give back to the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute that provided incredible patient care to my dear friend. I am working towards a fundraising goal of $350, so any donations would be greatly appreciated!
