The above quote (sourced from the Marie Keating Foundation) is a powerful and worrying statistic that has motivated me to try contribute, in any way I can, to reduce the likelihood of these kind of predictions being accurate.
I have been fortunate enough to be able to move to the US and get the opportunity to work in a research lab of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Here I get to witness everyday the staggering amount of hard work and care that is provided to pediatric/adult patients and that is put into developing a better understanding of cancer.
On September 22nd I am participating in the 2019 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk by walking 26 miles in the hope of raising a small amount toward Dana-Farber's efforts.
The amazing work carried out at the institute, at home and around the world is how we can overcome a condition which is becoming way too common. Please help me aid these efforts by supporting my participation in the Jimmy Fund Walk. Together against Cancer.
