2021 Virtual Boston Marathon Dana Farber Jimmy Fund charity fundraiser walk to combat/fight all types of cancers
It’s that time of the year….. The Dana Farber Jimmy Fund charity fundraiser walk is coming up in early October. It will be a “virtual” walk again this year. Hey everyone. Why? Well, you’ve heard this before, but it worth repeating:
Second, Friends and Family. I have walked and supported cancer causes for many years. I have lost friends to Breast cancer and have friends and family who are survivors. Unfortunately, the Avon Walk is no more, so what better place to raise money but through Boston's own Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber. I started walking in the Avon-39 Walk in 2014. The 2016 Washington DC “Bra La La Silver Linings” Team, walked in honor of Lisa Rosenthal who lost her battle in 2015. Lisa had a moto--Be Well, Be Happy, Be Optimistic. In 2013, while both of us lived in Minneapolis we started the "Opportunities out of Adversity" fund to support Uni. of Minnesota’s Metastatic Breast Cancer research and Wellness after Hodgkin Lymphoma Research. Many of us still give to these worthy causes.
Third, Chloe Svolos Baldwin. Chloe is now my niece. She married my nephew Luke Baldwin in September. Yours’s truly was officiated the wedding as the “Offici-aunt.” Chloe had the same type and stage of cancer as I had--Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Chloe is also a survivor!! Way to go!!! It was a great day for a "socially distanced" walk on the Cape Cod canal even with masks.
Fourth, the people/community you meet when united in a cause; and let me tell you, fighting cancer and funding cancer research is a most deserving cause.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the 2021 Virtual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. So, what form does your support take???That's up to you. We will take your financial support; absolutely take your emotional support and fully embrace your support to raise awareness to our just cause. What's the cause again??? We want to conquer cancer! All cancer!!! No small task, but it's just a little smaller with your support.
Love, courage and strength,
