Hi friends and thanks for checking in!
I am walking in the 2020 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, to create a world without cancer.
Like all of you, I have my own experience with cancer. I have lost many family members and friends to the disease. Dana-Farber is out in front in terms of both innovative cancer research and cancer care, treating nearly 6,000 cancer patients every week.
I joined the Jimmy Fund Walk for the first time last year. I've been in a lot of walking. running, and cycling fundraisers, but this was the most inspiring event I had ever been a part of. This year, I am the captain of my company's walk team at Schneider Electric, which has been walking the Walk for over 10 years.
The Walk usually follows the course of the Boston Marathon. But this year, we will walk wherever we want to: around their neighborhood, in the park, through the woods, on the treadmill. I plan to walk 10 kilometers here in Little Compton, RI, which should be gorgeous on Walk Day, October 4th.
This year's remote walk will be very different from previous years, but it will also be amazing! Anyone, anywhere can participate...including you!
Today we are all focused on ending the spread of COVID-19 and addressing the racial, political, economic, and environmental challenges we face. But cancer doesn't stop, so we can't either. Please lend your support to me and the Schneider Electric team if you can.
Thank you!
John
