By now, many of you already know that my brother, Mike Mahoney, was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia last week. Fortunately, this is very treatable. It’s treatable because of the cancer research that has been done from the millions and millions of dollars of donations over the years. Just 20 years ago, the prognosis for this was 3-7 years of life expectancy, now with any luck, he’ll live a long and otherwise healthy life. To help continue that research and hopefully save the lives of others in the future, Miles has started a team for the Jimmy Fund walk this September. The goal is to raise $10,000. We would appreciate any support you can give.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
