I am participating in the 2019 Jimmy Fund Walk, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
I'll be walking for George. I usually describe him as my best friend's dad and my dad's best friend, but as powerful as those connections are, to only describe him in relation to others diminishes what a powerful force, friend, and surrogate father he was to me. From Florida to Austria to the pool in his backyard, he took care of me, watching over me like I was his family. When he was diagnosed with cancer last year, Dana-Farber was there to take care of him and his family. I'll be walking with Allie to honor her father and raise money for the institution and the people who took such good care of him, both during his treatment and at the end of his life.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
