On Sunday September 22nd, Tim and I joined many of our dear friends and walked the Jimmy Fund 10K with Team "Shuffle4DanaFarber" alongside Karl and Barbara and the entire O'Hara family. The sun was shining and there was a nice breeze - conversations were filled with reminiscing and laughter and lots of selfies were taken with old friends and new. For many reasons, it was an unforgettable day. But as all of us know, cancer is hard. Cancer is sad. Cancer hurts even the ones who aren't fighting it. Karl's brother John O'Hara passed away in December. They created this team together 4 years ago, and while I am hopeful that my little bit counts, I am confident that walking with friends who care so deeply and whose loss is still so pure, made a difference in their lives. Even for just one day.
We all receive so many emails, facebook posts and letters asking for donations of any size - and more and more of them are for the same goal - to aid in the research of cancer - to find a cure and save lives.
Personally I ask for my loved ones who have survived, as well as the friends who have not ... Tara Baacke, Heather Zarkadas and John O'Hara.
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart.
