I am participating in the 2022 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
I'm walking with Every Step for Emma in honor of my dear friend's daughter who passed away from neuroblastoma 10 years ago. We are walking to help prevent cancer from taking away others from their loved ones.
The funds our team raises are dedicated directly to the Freddie Fund.
The Freddie Fund supports research in pediatric cancer, with a focus on high risk neuroblastoma, in the hope that new developments can be found to improve the standard of care and outcomes for children.
Funds raised are used to develop clinical trials, improved screening/detection, and improve standard of care under the direction of Dana Farber/Boston Children's Hospital doctors and investigators.
This fund is inspired by Freddie Page, who was diagnosed in July 2020 with high risk neuroblastoma. He is being treated at at Dana Farber/Boston Children's Hospital on an 18-month treatment protocol, which includes 5 rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, 2 bone marrow transplants, 2 types of radiation, and immunotherapy. Freddie is currently showing no evidence of disease, but his treatment continues to reduce the risk of relapse as much as possible. https://blog.jimmyfund.org/2021/09/freddie-inspires-progress-and-hope-for-neuroblastoma-research/
Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can defy cancer!
