I am participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk to support McKenzie Roy and all other patients battling cancer. The picture above was taken the first day I ever met McKenzie. I have watched her grow up into a beautiful, kind and intelligent young lady. To same I am blessed to be apart of her life is an understatement. One Thursday night in February 2019 I got a phone call from my mother, as I answered I thought it was going to be the same phone call as every Thursday about my sons day but instead she started with “I have some bad news about McKenzie” and my heart sunk into my stomach. Just writing that sentence and remembering that day brings me to tears. But McKenzie was brave and strong and she won her battle!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
