As many of you know, my incredible mom was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma when I was only 6 years old. As a single mother, she made sure I could attend every activity I was interested in, picked out my outfits for school, set up playdates, and everything else that superhero moms do, all while battling cancer for many years.
Throughout elementary and middle school, our family, friends, and community came together to support us. The kindness that others showed us, and the responsibilities that our family and my three Aunt's took on to help take care of me and my mom, are something that I will never forget. Unfortunately, our family isn't alone in this experience. Like many of you, cancer has touched your family, your friends, your community.
Without cutting-edge science, highly compassionate care, and critical research funding, she might not have seen me graduate high school and college, or have the chance to walk me down the aisle as she did at my wedding last year.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, allowing leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
