Cancer won't quit, so neither will I
In January, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. In February, I was diagnosed with a BRCA mutation. Oh, and did I mention the pandemic that hit in March? 2020 was a tidal wave of fear and uncertainty. But from the moment I stepped into the Dana Farber building, I knew I had found the right place to weather the storm. The compassion the doctors and nurses showed me, the adjustments they went through because of COVID without complaining or breaking a sweat, the way my heart was treated at the same time as my body - these are things I will never forget. This has been the most challenging year of my life, but they were right along side me from start to finish. While my fight with cancer is finally nearing the end, it will always be part of me, and it's something I share with countless people around the world. That's why I'm participating in the 2020 Boston Marathon(R) Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way on October 4th.
When you make a gift to my walk, you're directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families. You can donate to my fundraiser directly, or become a team member and help raise funds yourself. You can run a full marathon, or you can walk five minutes. You can participate your way. Dana Farber never stopped fighting for me, and now it's my turn to fight for them.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, let's kick cancer's a$$!
