Thanks for visiting my page.
This has certainly been a challenging year. When I think back to the months since I was diagnosed with lymphoma I am filled with gratitude for the care I received at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This is why I have set a goal to walk 5K in the Jimmy Fund Walk on October 4th.
Although I worked in IT at DFCI in the 90's, I never fully appreciated the work being done there until I passed through the doors as a cancer patient.
Each person I came into contact with showed me compassion and consideration: the parking lot attendants, the receptionists with their COVID questions, the visiting nurses who drew my blood at home, the medical assistants taking my vital signs, the nutritionist with her recipes, the online meditation class, the amazing oncology nurses in the infusion room, and of course my oncologist, a lymphoma specialist.
There were laughs and there were tears, and a final bell-ringing celebration when I finished my last treatment on July 17, 2020.
I hope that with your help we can show support for this important work and move the goal of conquering cancer a little closer. We welcome you to join our team, THE CURABLES, either by picking your own walk route or joining ours in Brighton on October 4th.
