I am participating in the 2024 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer. I walk for family, friends, co-workers. I walk to honor my own journey, 21 years ago in October. I can say I am cured from Non- Hodgkin's lymphoma. The treatment which included an autologous stem cell transplant.  I can say even with it gone; the memory will always remain. The damage to me physically and mentally will always remain. This is a hard fact to hear but it needs to be heard; because many feel like this after their treatments. We need better treatments. We need to continue to have programs and build them up for the aftermath that cancer and it's treatment leaves for us. We need to continue to find treatments that gets rid of the cancer but stays away from the good cells that are still there.
