I was completely shocked to receive the diagnosis of the aggressive inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) in 2019 following a trip to Disney where I developed a small rash. My world was turned completely upside down and following a ton of treatment, I was hoping to be cured. Imagine my shock in December 2020, when they discovered two large tumors in my brain. I receive amazing care locally, but know that the awesome team at Dana Farber saved my life in January 2021. They continue to direct care of my brain metastasis.
I am participating in the 2022 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer. When you make a gift to my Walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s research into Inflammatory Breast Cancer and brain metastasis (stage 4 spread to the brain). Inflammatory breast cancer can only be diagnosed at stage 3 or 4.
This past summer, I lost 7 friends to cancer. I don’t want anyone else to suffer from this fate, but we need research to make that happen. I hope my friends and family will either join my team to help me fundraise for this cause, or donate to my fundraising efforts. This donation can possibly save lives through new research! Thank you so much for helping make a difference in the lives of people of like me and supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can defy cancer!
