For the first time ever, I am participating in the 2022 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk.
Like many of you, I have people in my life who are actively battling cancer, or have battled it in the past. The person who comes to mind first for me is my mother, who was a patient at Dana-Farber for breast cancer, may she rest in peace.
She showed me just how much of a fighter she is for years following that, and those years are owed in part to Dana-Farber's clinicians, whose care and treatment steered her to remission for some time and allowed her so many important moments with loved ones that she might have missed -- she even became a grandma!
To respect their privacy, I won't name the other folks (friends and family alike) I am walking for, but I know that Dana-Farber's clinical care and research is making a difference for them in 2022. It is the least I can do to support DFCI in their mission to offer hope, comfort, answers, and maybe even breakthroughs in their fights against cancers of all different types.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and donations if you can make them, and if you know anyone who's got a fight of their own, I hope Dana-Farber can make a difference for them, too.
