In August of 2020 our mom was abruptly diagnosed with advanced-stage breast cancer. The news rocked her world and ours, and the days and weeks that followed in Boston hospitals and rehabilitation centers had us all fearful of a devastating outcome or prognosis.
But our mom is resilient and her care at Dana Farber is best in class. It has been two years since our mom began a slow road to recovery, by getting herself out of her hospital bed on her own. Today, she runs around with her granddaughters, goes to the gym and walks the neighborhood just like she did before cancer.
In October, my family will walk together as a testament to our mom’s courage and toughness and to raise money for Dana Farber, so that others may receive the care and cutting-edge treatments that our mom receives, and so that more research can be done to find a cure.
Thank you for supporting our family’s Jimmy Fund Walk by donating and/or joining our team.
