WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

On May 16, 2020, John Anciello, conquered his battle with Cancer. We will never say he lost his battle, because since the day he had been diagnosed with a Stage 4 Glioblastoma Brain Tumor, he fought for 9 months with determination. He gave every single day all he could give. He was willing to go through risky procedures, because as he said, "he just wanted to live" but "if the procedures didn't benefit him, he knew that someday it would benefit someone else."  As each day goes by, our Dad still makes us laugh, makes us smile, makes us feel loved, and still finds ways to help and guide us through life. We always talk about him, because even though he may not be physically here with us to be part of our new memories, he left all of us with some pretty great memories and experiences that we are thankful for.

This year we formed a walking team, affectionally called John's Racing Team. Those who knew our Dad know how much he loved Cars, how much he loved his 1986 Corvette, and going to car shows and cruise nights on a nice summer day. We also loved going with him. He'd spend many weekends working on our clunkers over the years, jacking up our cars in the driveway to change the oil, rotate tires, change our brakes, and fix MAJOR issues because in this household, we were taught to hold onto cars until the doors fall off. We were his assistant, grabbing him tools from his tool chest, and always had to put them back exactly where we took them from. We still borrow tools, and ensure we always put them back where we took them from.

We are proud to be able to walk 10k for the 2nd year in a row in the Jimmy Fund Walk in honor of our Dad's incredible life, his selflessness, and his determination.

Our fund raising goal for this year's walk is $2,500. We greatly appreciate your support and contribution that will go towards Dana Farber finding a cure for Glioblastomas, and all Cancers.

Sincerely,

John's Racing Team
