We all have been impacted by cancer. Whether we ourselves have or had cancer or a family member, loved one, collegue, someone we admire has or had cancer. My journey to support cancer research started in the late 1970's when my brothers best friend, (college age) died of Aplastic Anemia and then in the 1980's, my cousin Sean died of the same cancer.
My husband and I agreed, this must be our thing.
Almost every year since then, someone we know has been impacted by cancer. I always thank Howard Konopka for asking me to join his team in 2001 to walk for his beautiful daughter. That began my journey walking in this event and that began my journey in feeling the overwhelming support from all my donors. By participating in the 2022 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, our team is making every step count toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
I want to thank Dr. Emily Ruiz and Dr. Chrysalyne Schmults for their brilliance in saving lives . Thank you Hillary Bruns and Mark Elbach for helping us direct our giving to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Our team rocked. Abigail and Vanessa were the BEST teammates. And we had fun.
Thank you for supporting our team in the Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can defy cancer!
