WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

In mid January Isabel was very cold during our usual swim at the YMCA.  Later she had a fever after her bath and was shaking, pale and had bruises on her legs.  I suspected she had flu or Covid but at the pediatrician both tests were negative.  We decided to check her CBC to be extra thorough. It was abnormal.  We planned to recheck when she was better in 2 weeks.  She was back to school, dance and ski lessons when we went for the lab draw.  It was still abnormal but we would have to wait until Monday to confirm leukemia.  On Monday Leah was already at school and Aubrey was home sick. Dave and I got the call at 8 am confirming our fears.  We told Aubrey and Izzy what we knew about leukemia.  We packed our bags to head to Childrens to be admitted for the unimaginably hard journey to cure Isabels leukemia.
