WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

In April 2022, our son António was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyocarcoma.


António has endured so much from surgery, chemotherapy, life threatening complications from chemo, handfuls of blood and platelets transfusions, NG tube placements, long hospital stays and so much more. 

António has recently finished his treatment plan and his scans have shown No Evidence of disease!! Although, he isn't currently being treated for cancer he does have side effects from receiving chemotherapy and will be seen in the clinic for scans and routine appointments. 

We are walking to raise money for The Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber so kids like António have a chance of fighting Cancer. We couldn't have made it through the last year without the amazing team at Dana Farber/BCH and all of the wonderful Child Life specialists. 

By participating in the 2023 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, our team is making every step count toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.

Your support goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge research and compassionate patient care. Funds raised through the Jimmy Fund Walk enable Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
