We walk for Liz. Although she lost her battle with Neuroendocrine tumor (NET) cancer in 2019, her fighting spirit and her dream of figuring out the cause, prevention and cure for NET lives on.
Liz was amazing. Beautiful, energetic, kind, generous, loving, talented, athletic, organized, great hugger, bright smile, we can go on. NET cancer appeared in her life and by her grace those qualities did not diminish. They blossomed, she blossomed. She, slowly and with great thought and deliberation, applied those qualities to deepening her relationships with her supportive husband, vibrant sons, beloved family and growing friendships. Her end-of-life journey was a miracle to behold. A big piece of it for Liz was gathering together her Zebra Divas. A dazzle of hopeful, helpful, loving people to support her most fervent prayer of finding a cure for NET to give her more time. More time with Ralph, Josh and Lucas and all the people who received so much from her presence. She was a formidable enemy for NET. Through her determination funds were acquired, awareness was raised, and she gave the ultimate by being willing to participate in experimental treatments and research that will undoubtedly benefit many. Dana Farber was an anchor in a crazy storm for Liz.
