By participating in the 2023 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk, our team is making every step count toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer and it's personal.
As many of you know, Gavin McCarthy was diagnosed with optic glioma (brain tumor) in 2008 at the age of 2 and Rizal Ahmed was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer in October of 2022. We created this team for them and for all of those who have been diagnosed with cancer. We want to help find a cure and give back to the institution who has taken such good care of them.
Your support goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge research and compassionate patient care. Funds raised through the Jimmy Fund Walk enable Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
